1. Moderate charging
Maintaining moderate charging and discharging of lithium-ion batteries can extend battery life. Maintaining the battery level of lithium-ion batteries at 10% to 90% is beneficial for battery protection, as it is not necessary to reach the maximum value when charging digital products such as smartphones and laptops.
2. Choose the appropriate charging temperature
Charging temperature range of lithium-ion batteries: 0-50 ℃, discharge temperature range of lithium-ion batteries: -20 ℃~60 ℃
3. Preventing overshoot
During the charging process of lithium-ion batteries, it is necessary to prevent overcharging. Any form of overcharging of lithium-ion batteries can cause serious damage to battery performance, even explosion.
4. First charge does not require activation, standard charging time
There is a significant difference in the charging and discharging characteristics between lithium-ion batteries and nickel batteries. When not charging, the charging time must exceed 12 hours, repeated three times, and charged according to standard time and methods. Especially, do not charge for longer than 12 hours.
The ambient temperature range during charging is between 0~+45 ℃; The charging current shall not exceed the current indicated in the specification, generally not exceeding 2C; Batteries with bulging, deformation, leakage, or voltage below 2.8V cannot be charged; The temperature of the battery cell before charging at room temperature shall not exceed 40 ℃; The upper limit voltage for charging should not exceed 4.22V, and the surface temperature of the battery body should not exceed 45 ℃ after charging in a room temperature environment; It is recommended to choose a charger produced by a reputable manufacturer with reliable quality, and a charger with balancing function is recommended for the battery pack.
Precautions for discharging lithium-ion batteries:
The discharge current shall not exceed the current indicated in the specification
There is swelling, deformation, leakage, or voltage difference≥ Batteries with a 50mV phenomenon cannot be discharged
The lower limit voltage for discharge shall not be lower than 3.0V, and after high current discharge, the voltage difference between each individual cell of the battery pack shall not exceed 150mV, and the surface temperature shall not exceed 80 ℃
The statement that lithium-ion batteries are not worn out but charged out makes sense. Correct charging habits can greatly increase the battery life. It is also important to choose a charger that matches the original factory and battery. The intelligent charger can automatically distinguish different environmental temperatures and intelligently adjust charging parameters, so the technical requirements are very high.
